Nearly every weekday afternoon from kindergarten through senior year, my brother and I would unceremoniously drop our backpacks on the floor next to the kitchen table with a thud, grab a glass of water, and head straight to the pantry to scrounge around for a snack. Notorious for our sweet teeth, we almost always snagged 2 or 3 of the popular name-brand soft baked chocolate chip cookies, or maybe a sugary jelly-filled granola bar.
On our more “virtuous” days, we reached for the cheddary fish or buttery crackers slathered in peanut butter instead. None of our choices were exactly the healthiest, but they kept us quiet until dinner and helped motivated us to tackle our homework, which left Mom extremely pleased!
When I moved away for college, I attempted to clean up my snack attacks. I bought big bags of pretzels, boxes of raisins, and pounds of crisp apples, and while I happily munched and crunched my way through most afternoons, the monotony of the same 3 options eventually grew boring. Once I finished off all of those, I sometimes I caved at the grocery store during my next visit and dropped a box of those sugary granola bars into my basket. Even the chocolate chip ones were almost impossible to resist!
If only Gold Emblem Abound had been around back then… This summer, this new snack line—available exclusively at CVS pharmacies—is rolling out a huge array of tasty options to curb your cravings the healthy way! They’ve created lots of granola bars, fruit snacks, trail mixes, and even crunchy bran cookies. (My picky eater guy, the one who refuses almost all desserts, snuck a whole row of those cookies after I went to bed one night!)
To continue celebrating my birthday, Gold Emblem Abound has generously offered one lucky person an assortment of their fun snacks as a gift to you for being such sweet readers!

I would share these with anyone!! I love some of their snacks 🙂
You’re too cute Marina! 🙂
I go to CVS frequently….and never knew!! Would be wonderful to win!!
They only came out within the past 2 weeks — don’t feel bad Paula!
I will certainly give these a try. Besides needing to cut back on sugar at our house, hubby is having some colon issues and I am sure these would be better for him. We will try this week. :>) MS
I hope you and your hubby enjoy them Mary Sue! 🙂
I needed to find these before my trip to Ghana. These would have been good to have in my backpack each day. Dad and I could have shared them for our lunch/snack.
They only came out within the past 2 weeks Rene; if only they released them sooner. That sounds like such a fun trip with your dad though!
The fruit and veggie snack bars look good! I think my son would love them as well! 🙂
They’re some of my favorites Laura! And your son has the best mom. 🙂
My family loves the Gold Emblem nuts and snacks, I was excited when I saw these coming out soon.
That’s wonderful Jean; I’m so happy you like the snacks already!
These look delicious. Perfect beach snacks!
I definitely agree Lauren! Just don’t forget the sunscreen too! 😉
I would love to share these with my family
That’s so sweet of you Sandy! 🙂
I don’t usually go to CVS, and have never tried them, but I’d like to! They look yummy. These look like super summer camp lunch bag snacks! Thanks for the giveaway and all the great stuff you share.
I don’t go to CVS very often because it’s on the other side of town, but after trying these snacks, I definitely don’t mind driving all the way over. 😉 You’re welcome, and thank you for being such a sweet reader!
I might be persuaded to share with my coworkers….but maybe not if the snacks are as delicious as they sound!
I wouldn’t blame you at all if you kept them all to yourself Katie… If my guy hadn’t have snuck the cookies after I went to bed, I doubt I would’ve shared very much with him either!
