I have the memory span of a goldfish. Thoughts float in one ear and out the other in about three seconds, so my eyes grew as wide as saucers when I found a big white box perched on my doorstep Friday after work.
A month earlier, two ladies from Chobani had emailed me after reading my post on blueberry lemon yogurt cookies. Because I had used Greek yogurt, they wanted to send me samples of their brand! They scheduled the delivery for Friday, but with an end-of-the-quarter research presentation on the same day, that little detail completely slipped my mind…
Until I read “CHOBANI” in bold black letters on the side of the box. I squealed louder than a little pig before hefting the package onto the kitchen table and tearing off the tape.
This time, my eyes grew wider than dinner plates… They sent me eight different flavors of yogurt to try! I attempted to exercise a teeny bit of self-control and not stick a spoon in each, but I only succeeded because I ran out of clean silverware…
We’ll see how many Chobani-based recipes I come up with in the next few weeks (any ideas??), but for now, here’s my new favorite breakfast: a triple chocolate yogurt parfait!
These are healthy enough for breakfast, but still sweet enough for dessert. Serve with fresh raspberries or strawberries, if desired.
- Break up the chocolate cereal into smaller pieces.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the yogurt, sugar (if using), and cocoa powder until smooth. Place ¼ cup of the yogurt mixture in the bottom of two parfait glasses, and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of the broken cereal. Top with another ¼ cup of yogurt, and sprinkle with the remaining cereal and chocolate chips.
Getting mail that you FORGOT you were supposed to get, is one of the BEST feelings in the world!!! How exciting!! This parfait…holy shit.. that’s all I have to say. YUM!
So true — especially when it’s a huge package! Don’t get me wrong, I love getting little envelopes with handwritten letters too, but there’s something just as exciting about cutting the tape off of a box and popping the bubble wrap inside. :]
We don’t have that yogurt brand here but that won’t stop me from trying out your recipe with a different one. Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to see what else you come up with.
My pleasure! What brands do the grocery stores near you stock? I usually buy the local supermarket’s house brand because it’s cheapest, but I may have to splurge for Chobani after this!
Yum! We love Greek yogurt, so I know my kids would love this…especially when chocolate is involved 😉
Greek yogurt is definitely a staple in my fridge; I eat it nearly every day. And it’s so hard to resist anything with chocolate, even now as an adult! :]
I love Chobani! And now I am going to triply love it. What a great idea. I”m going to print out my coupons, too! Thanks for the tips. And thanks to the Chobani people.
You’re welcome, and thank you! They were really generous, so I’d like to support them by buying their yogurt just for that. Enjoy those coupons!
I WISH I got chobani here! Love how you garnished it with the remaining cereal. Can you #startrek warp me some for breakfast? 😀
Sure thing, it’ll be waiting for you before you wake up! ;] Other nonfat Greek yogurts would work too, if your grocery store carries another brand instead.
