In 8th grade, the cool kids’ parents dropped them off at Jamba Juice before school on Wednesday mornings. With classes starting an hour later, it gave the hungry students just enough time to grab a drink and walk the quarter mile to campus. Â
Always a saver, I rarely splurged on smoothies and stuck most of my weekly allowance in my pink piggie bank instead. On the rare occasion that we stopped by the shopping center, I anxiously stood in the long line that snaked out the door and around the patio furniture. After ordering and receiving my Razzmatazz, I immediately gave myself a brain freeze by drinking it too quickly—I was so scared of being late and getting a pink slip!
Later in life, I learned to slow down and savor my smoothies. (My brain thanked me for it.) I also bravely branched out and began trying new flavors, like Strawberries Wild, Peach Pleasure, and Caribbean Passion. But the Strawberry Surf Rider turned out to be a favorite of mine and my brother’s, so we mixed up our own last week at home!

We loved the bright citrusy notes in this smoothie! It melts quickly, so be sure to drink it right away.
- Add the lemonade and lime sherbet to a blender, and pulse for 5 seconds. Add the remaining ingredients, and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

I guess we never quite learn our lessons about drinking smoothies too quickly… But would it even be worth it to slow down? ;]

Haha YES- us falcons were CRAZY about jamba! I wasn’t cool enough to be dropped off at Jamba for sure… but I sure did love it as the occasional between band camp sessions snack! 😉

Oh man, I hear ya there! Those hot summer afternoons practically begged for Jamba Juice… The smoothies were also the perfect pre-Tuesday-night-practice snack too!

That looks way better than anything from Jamba Juice to me! It sounds so refreshing, perfect for the warm days we have ahead (fingers crossed…)

Thank you! I agree, spring better hurry up and get here — then stick around! No more of this “one sunny day then raining the next three” business. Hope the warm weather comes your way soon!

Is it lemonade concentrate, or lemonade? That much concentrate seems too intense.

I really appreciate your interest in my recipe Adam! It’s correct as is, frozen lemonade concentrate. We’re a family of lemon lovers! 😉 If the lemon flavor is too much for your personal tastes, then you can definitely decrease the amount or increase the strawberries and/or peaches. It’s really easy to tweak this recipe to suit your preferences! 🙂 I’d love to hear what you think if you try making it!
