A few weeks ago, Grandma told me about how the Hallmark channel airs a “Christmas in July” feature each year. They run a different holiday-themed chick flick nearly every night during their summer special, most of which are cute and cheesy, according to Grandma.
They’re almost always the same storyline… Boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, something happens to drive them apart, they reconcile and live happily ever after. Lighthearted and adorable romances!
When Grandma texted me that the first little film was airing on a particular Saturday evening, I started thinking about my favorite parts of the holiday season… Especially the sweet treats. (No surprises there!) And how every Christmas, a box of See’s Candies appears in my parents’ pantry, full of decadent gourmet chocolates, which they generously share with the rest of us. And how Mom and I somehow manage to make the majority of that deliciously rich candy disappear by ourselves.
Since I really don’t want to wait five more months until Christmas to get my truffle fix, I whipped up these Healthy Dark Chocolate Orange Truffles to satisfy my cravings. They’re super easy to make with just 4 ingredients (no heavy cream or refined sugar!), and they’re only 21 calories!
Watch how to make them in my video below, then grab my recipe directly underneath the video!
