This past summer, Mom started to tackle a bunch of small home improvement projects, including decluttering the entire house in preparation for refinishing their hardwood floors. As part of her decluttering mission, I sorted through my closet, packing the things I wanted to keep in cardboard boxes and tossing others in a pile to donate.
While pawing through items, I came across my dresses from high school dances. Shorter ones for homecoming, longer ball gowns for prom… Each in a unique style and color, from white and silver to bright pink and serene teal.
I smiled at the sight of them on their hangers, remembering the process of getting ready for those dances with friends. Fancy updos involving straighteners and curling irons, glittery eyeshadows and layers of mascara, a quick spritz of vanilla or raspberry body spray before heading out the door.
I even found a bottle of that raspberry body spray tucked behind my dresses! But instead of spritzing it around my room like old times, I wanted the smell (and taste!) of the real thing…
So I baked these Healthy Raspberry Oatmeal Cookies instead! They’re perfectly soft and chewy, just like traditional indulgent recipes, and they’re full of sweet juicy fruit. But they’re made with no refined flour or sugar and just 98 calories!
