For as long as I can remember, we’ve celebrated every Christmas with my mom’s parents, and except for two occasions in the past, my grandparents have flown into town to stay with us. As young children, my brother and I were terrified that Santa wouldn’t find us or deliver our presents if we spent Christmas Eve at any of our extended family’s houses!
This year, we’re turning the tables and traveling to Arizona to celebrate the holidays at my grandparents’ instead. In between singing carols and watching old Christmas movies, I can guarantee we’ll eat our weight in coffee cake, gingerbread, fruitcake, and sugar cookies… I inherited both my sweet tooth and my love of baking from my grandparents!
Although we’re keeping things fairly low-key this year and skipping presents in favor of quality time and chocolate-filled Christmas stockings, I feel like I’ve already been given one of the biggest and best gifts of all…
YOU! You, kind friend, have made this dream life of mine possible. I wouldn’t be able to blog as my full-time job without your interest in my recipes, support for my cookbook, and kind comments here on the website, in emails, and across social media. So thank you!
And wherever you’re spending this time of year, I hope you have a merry Christmas, happy holidays, and wonderful time celebrating with your loved ones! ♥

Thanks Brittany! It’s supposed to snow a little tonight… Yikes! That’s what happens when your grandparents live at such a high elevation, I suppose. 😉 Merry Christmas!
