I joined Snapchat shortly before I flew to Chicago for this food blogging conference last fall, and I started following Kristen from Dine and Dish about a week before my trip. I immediately fell in love with her weekday âCoffee Talkâ snaps, and whenever I replied to what she shared, she quickly typed out a response back.
When I posted a Snap on my own account the following week, asking for recommendations of things to do in Chicago, Kristen suggested a boat tour on the Chicago River. That afternoon, I purchased a ticket from Wendella Boats (I highly recommend them!), chose a seat towards the front of the boat on the upper outdoor deck, and settled in for the two-hour tour.
Everyone else on the boat came with at least one other personâa friend, a spouse, or their entire familyâbut I actually loved being the only âsingle rider.â I devoted my entire attention to the tour guideâs stories and jokes, snapping the shutter on my DSLR camera as often as I pleased, and enjoyed every minute of the cruise⊠Even when it started drizzling!
Without Kristenâs Snapchat suggestion, my trip to Chicago wouldnât have been nearly as special or memorable, and thatâs what I really appreciate about the internet and social media: they have the power to bring people together, put smiles on our faces, brighten our days, and even change our lives.
Using the internet and social media, thatâs exactly what youâve done for me!
My heart fills with joy when you stop by my blog, try my recipes, leave comments on my blog posts, and share your pictures of those treats with me on Facebook and Instagram. Not only that, but those small actions of yours have enabled me to turn Amyâs Healthy Baking into my full-time job!
Crazy, isnât it? How your stumbling across my blog while searching for recipes online and making some of my treats has allowed me to quit my previous job and blog full-time? It still feels like a dream, and Iâm incredibly grateful!
So to say thank you, Iâm putting the spotlight back on you today! Here are some of the recipes that youâve tried and pictures that youâve shared on Instagram. I truly appreciate each and every time you do that; it really means the world to me! â„
If youâre interested in starting a blog too, I have a super easy step-by-step guide on how you can start your own blog here. It takes less than 30 minutes!
I canât wait to see what you try next! â„
Would you like to see your picture in my next Sunday Spotlight? Then share it with me on Instagram using #amyshealthybaking and tag @amyshealthybaking IN the photo itself. (That guarantees Iâll see your picture! ?) I canât wait to see what recipes you make!
