During my last trip home to visit my family, I arrived at the airport early… Only to discover my flight had been delayed. After standing in the long security line and finally reaching the gate, I found a single seat in the over-crowded lounge and pulled out a magazine to read.
I watched as some of the other passengers glanced at the monitor displaying the plane’s departure time, then down at their watches, and back at the monitor again. Many of them eventually rose from their seats and walked to one of the various food stalls in the terminal to grab a snack.
While most returned with bags of chips or candy bars, a handful of those people brought back cups of coffee and small brown paper bags with various pastries inside: muffins, croissants, brownies, chocolate chip cookies… Anything to make the long wait to board the plane more bearable!
I smiled, grateful I thought ahead and packed a batch of these Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Scones in my carry-on to snack on just in case. They’re much healthier than those coffee shop pastries, yet just as tender and irresistible, with lots of bright banana flavor and rich chocolate.
Even better? You just need one bowl and 30 minutes to make them… And they’re just 155 calories!
You can watch my episode below where I show you how to make these healthy banana scones, and you can get my recipe directly beneath the video. And remember to subscribe to my TV show here, so you’ll be the first to know when a new episode airs!
Very interesting tip about brushing milk on the outside of the scones; and I love that you added extra chocolate chips to the tops of each treat. And you startled me with the close-up at the end of the video, hahaha .
Definitely not my usual silly ending! 😉 But it seemed decent enough to include… Hopefully it wasn’t too startling or scary! ?
Whats the measurements of all the ingredients?
I really appreciate your interest in my recipe Anita! If you look directly beneath the recipe video, you’ll find how to view this recipe’s ingredients and instructions. I know it can be easy to miss! 🙂 I can’t wait to hear what you think of these scones!
