As a senior in high school, I cut a large piece of white butcher paper from an oversized roll in our closet, almost as tall as my bedroom door, and pulled out a set of brightly colored markers to create a lifelong “To Do” list, my pseudo bucket list. I filled the top half with an eclectic assortment of items: finish my MLB tour with Dad, visit Greece and Italy, walk across the Golden Gate bridge, ride the spiral escalators at the Westfield Shopping Center in San Francisco, work in a bakery… Plus many more.
The list still hangs on the back of my childhood bedroom door, and I often smile when I see it. Although I never worked in a true professional bakery, the kind that sells impressive multi-tiered cakes adorned with perfectly piped buttercream roses… I’m always amazed that my entire income now comes from baking and this blog.
And YOU helped make that possible! ♥
By browsing through my recipes and signing up for my emails… By saving the links to those recipes on Pinterest and Facebook… By trying those recipes and giving the treats to your family and friends… By take pictures of your sweets to share with me on Instagram…
All of those small actions have added up and allowed me to turn Amy’s Healthy Baking from a part-time hobby into my full-time job. I’m incredibly grateful for that!
So to say thank you, I’m putting the spotlight back on you today! Here are some of the recipes that you’ve tried and pictures that you’ve shared on Instagram. I truly appreciate each and every time you do that; it really means the world to me! ♥
And if you’re interested in starting a blog too, I have a super easy step-by-step guide on how you can start your own blog here. It takes less than 30 minutes!
I can’t wait to see what you try next! ♥
Would you like to see your picture in my next Sunday Spotlight? Then share it with me on Instagram using #amyshealthybaking and tag @amyshealthybaking IN the photo itself. (That guarantees I’ll see your picture! ?) I can’t wait to see what recipes you make!
What are the cookies pictured on top? They look amazing!
The cookies are from a local bakery that supplied lunch for a Food Blogging Workshop I attended in the Midwest! They go along with my personal story in this post, rather than a I recipe I created. 🙂 I can’t wait to hear what recipe of mine you try next Ashley!
Oh fab! Thanks! Love your recipes so I’ll definitely be trying one again soon. Possibly the cornbread 🙂
That means a lot to me Ashley — thank you!! 🙂 I’m so excited to hear what you think of the cornbread if you try it!
