Nearly every year, various relatives call, text, and email my mom to ask what they should give me for Christmas. Although I’ve tried insisting that I need absolutely nothing and am perfectly fine skipping presents, certain family members refuse to take “No” for an answer, and those people always send big boxes of fully wrapped packages for us to open after Santa’s stockings.
As a result, right around Thanksgiving, I typically put together a short list to avoid receiving seven different oven mitts or three of the same fleecy penguin blanket. Yes, both of those have happened! (This year, I added these to the very top of my list because they come in so handy for baking, and I can never have enough!)
But if you’re in the same boat and never know what to write on your holiday wish list—or if your best friend, roommate, or daughter loves to bake and you need gift ideas!—then I’ve put together this Ultimate Baking Holiday Gift Guide for you! It includes my favorite baking tools, {nonperishable} pantry ingredients, cookbooks with exclusively baking recipes, and even the best baking recipe gift basket ideas!
Even better? I’ve linked to where you can buy everything online on Amazon, so you don’t have to deal with the hectic holiday shopping crowds! ??

My pleasure Alyne! 🙂
Brittany says...
These are all great, but can I just have you in my kitchen for the holidays? That sounds wayyy creepier out loud than it did in my head. Basically I want to eat your treats!
That also could sound creepy. HAA.
Amy says...
Yes to BOTH!! I’d love that! 🙂 🙂
Emily says...
love these lists, especially the equipment list!!
Amy says...
I’m so glad you like them Emily! 🙂
Krithika says...
Really like this list! I have many of the tools here and use them all the time. Totally agree with you about the scale, whisks and spatulas. I have a set of three small spatulas that I use ALL the time.
I will have to check out the list of cookbooks, there are some new ones there I didn’t know about. I love salty sweet things, so will be taking a look at that one for sure. I have Sally’s cookbook already! In fact I found your blog by following a comment you made on one of her recipes 🙂
Amy says...
Oh my goodness, that’s so neat that’s how you stumbled upon my blog Krithika! I always love hearing how people find me. 🙂 Sally is so talented! And I agree — I use my small spatulas ALL the time too! I almost never use regular-sized ones anymore. 😉
Katie says...
This is brilliant, Amy! Many of my favourite things compiled into one post! Walking into a cookware shop, I could spend hours browsing through all the utensils and various kitchen gadgets. In fact, even in the supermarket I like to thoroughly scan the shelves for any exciting new ingredients. I love how you’ve listed these with clear pictures, in addition to listing the name of each item below. The recipes at the beginning look SO delicious – I’ll add them to my list of Christmas things to bake (along with your cranberry orange scones recipe, which is at the top!). They will be perfect as gifts… and a few just for me to eat, of course! I’ve bookmarked this to keep referring to over the holiday season!?
Amy says...
Aww you’re such a sweetheart Katie — I ♡ you to pieces!! I’m truly touched that you’ve added so many of my recipes to your baking list! 🙂 I’m the exact same way when it comes to cookware and grocery shops… I enjoy those types of shopping way more than clothes or shoes or purses! 😉 I can’t wait to hear what you think of the treats that you make!
Andrea says...
Fantastic gift guide!! I especially love the “baking recipe gift baskets-” who wouldn’t want to receive that?! I want those rainbow whisks! Too cute! <3

Thanks Andrea! We’ll always be two peas in a pod, won’t we?? ??
